Following the completion of Crossrail Place and the soon anticipated opening of the new Crossrail station, Canary Wharf have brought forward the redevelopment of the North Quay site.
Allies and Morrison have prepared proposals for the development of the vacant North Quay site which is immediately North of the Canary Wharf Estate.
As the site is within the tall building zone, the planning policy gives significant scope for massing. The proposals for 7 towers include a mixed use development with heights up to 61 storeys.
The site previously received planning in 2007 for a 43 and 37 storey, 4,000,000 square feet office development. In 2017 a revised mixed use development was submitted for planning to include office, residential and serviced apartments. However, in 2018 this was withdrawn due to the volume of residential developments being constructed in the surrounding area.
