Mace announced to construct 33 Charterhouse Street in Farringdon, London

Updated: Sep 12, 2020

Helical and Ashby Capital have today announced the appointment of Mace to lead the construction of their new investment at 33 Charterhouse Street in Farringdon, London.

The commercial office development which will shortly commence construction is adjacent to Farringdon Station and will be opposite the new home for the Museum of London. The 200,000 square foot development will be predominantly office space which will be split across 10 floors over commercial space at the ground floor level. The development is being constructed to provide specialist workspace which will house the latest technological advances to create one of London's best Smart Buildings.

Despite being relatively low rise, the building will include three external terraces to maximise the views across London. As a leading sustainable development, the design was awarded the first ever BREEAM Outstanding rating in 2018. As one of the most technologically advanced buildings in the area, it will benefit from an integrated digital platform which will assist the building's efficiency and provide an improved experience for it's tenants. Benefiting from connection to the district energy network, 33 Charterhouse Street will be supplied with heating and cooling from Citigen's local district network, although the building will also be topped with photovoltaic solar cells and a green roof.

With an anticipated completion of late 2022 work is due to commence on site early in 2021.
