382 Bedroom, 5 Star Hotel & Workspace at 61-65 Holborn Viaduct, London

Updated: Jun 28, 2020

Following the approval of planning permission in January 2020, demolition works have commenced on site and following completion it is expected that construction will commence shortly.

61-65 Holborn Redevelopment - Living Facade Visualisation

The Dominvs Group development designed by Sheppard Robson will contain a 382 bedroom 5 star hotel, in excess of 40,250 sq ft of workspace as well as a skybar, restaurant, meeting & event space and a spa.

The facade design provides a 40,000 sq ft green wall which will be the largest in Europe and will help to absorb some 8.5 tonnes of pollution each year, whilst producing 6.3 tonnes of oxygen. The estimated 400,000 plants within the living wall will also aid reducing the temperature in it's immediate vicinity by between 3 and 5 degrees Celsius.

Atop of the building will be a new public green space and roof top viewing gallery at the eleventh floor level, which will provide views across the area to St. Paul's Cathedral and the City of London.

The development will span the Network Rail assets of the former Snow Hill station and associated tunnels which now serve Thameslink, plus be adjacent to the Central Line Underground Tunnels, the City of London Corporation Services Subways and the Post Office Rail Tunnel. In many ways the development is as complex as our previous project at Camden Lock Village.
