N08 East Village

Stratford, London

Client:  Qatari Diar / Delancey Estates

Architect:  Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands

Value:  £190m

Helping to address London's housing shortage and transforming Stratford into a thriving community, East Village No.8 was built in quick time, using game-changing technology.

The approach to developing Plot No.8 of the East Village scheme came in the shape of the UK's first rising factory.  The six-storey ‘jump factory’, was built around the tower, creating an indoor construction site which improved noise, reduced safety risks and prevented environmental delays.

With unprecedented speed, each floor was constructed in just one week and thanks to pioneering pre-fabrication, the boundaries of pace were pushed, as well as assisting in improving quality, by using innovative solutions and techniques at every turn.

Chelsea Construction Consultancy were employed to provide claims and  adjudication support services.

As the centrepoint of the regeneration project, the Power Station will include approximately 100 new retail, food and beverage units, as well as a 2,000 capacity events venue and unique chimney lift experience.  The Power Station will also provide circa 500,000 sq ft of new office space which will be home to Apple’s new London Campus, and will include over 250 new residential homes.

Chelsea Construction Consultancy have been providing quantity surveying support to numerous sub-contractors working on various elements of the project.
